Mentors for Writers
Thanet Creative has always encouraged writers to support each other. We have taken this a step further with our online mentorship program. Members of our Facebook group - Thanet Creative: Writers - can sign up to take part in our mentorship program.
Mentors are volunteers with a wide range of experience and skills in writing, editing, and publishing who will guide you in your growth as a writer.
The program is open to anyone with an interest in writing but is particularly suitable to writers with a connection to Thanet which is where we hold events.

A Great Mentor
The best mentors are those who not only have skills and experiences to share but happily celebrate your success with you. While no one expects mentors to know everything, a good mentor will have some good ideas about how you can find answers together. The mentor and their mentoring partner will work together to identify a few key goals that they can work towards for the duration of the program. See our FAQ for more on what it takes to be a good mentor.
The program works by allowing people to select a partner they feel shows promise. Both sides of this partnership are built on mutual trust and cooperation. It is up to you both to set your own pace and identify the goals you will work towards. We recommend that you be willing to invest at least an hour each week to get the most out of the program.
Mentors for Writers is a voluntary program. The aim is not a qualification but growth as a writer. As such, what you get out of the program is entirely down to what you put into it and the goals you select to work towards.
As you grow as a writer, we hope that you will consider paying it forward by becoming a mentor yourself.
